This dissertation has investigated the competitiveness of a novel water circulation-based CO2- capture method to separate carbon dioxide from different industrial gas streams to be further utilized for its many purposes in industry. Based on the experimental results, enhancing the absorption stage with post-desorption significantly improves the efficiency of carbon dioxide capture in the method. This also reduces its specific energy consumption to close to the level of the amine method, but without harmful chemicals to the environment and health. In addition, in many cases the process captured carbon dioxide gas can be better utilized in various industrial applications due to its purity.
