The thermodynamic Iron Alloy Database (IAD) has been developed since 2000 to provide consistent thermodynamic data for modeling the solidification of steels. This work extends the three earlier publications on the IAD database by presenting the nitrogen-containing thermodynamic descriptions of the Fe–Al–Cr–Cu–Mn–Mo–Ni– Si–C–N system. The results suggest a good agreement between the thermodynamic descriptions and the measured data.
